URBANA — An Urbana man has been accused of entering his ex-girlfriend’s home and attempting to stab her new boyfriend. Champaign County Judge Brett Olmstead ruled April 24 that Gerardo Guiterrez-Carillo, 51, can remain free ahead of his trial on charges with home invasion with a deadly weapon, home invasion causing injury and criminal trespass to a residence while a person was present.

CHAMPAIGN — A local elementary school plans to hold a mini-marathon today Friday as a way to encourage physical fitness while honoring a late educator.
