Rockford man pleads guilty to sexually abusing juvenile

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office announced Friday that Adrian Ryder, 25, has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a juvenile female in October 2023.

According to authorities, Ryder, who was already on probation for a 2020 charge of Grooming, was developed as a suspect in a report of sexual abuse made by the victim on Tuesday, October 10th, 2023.

He was arrested on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023, on the charge of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, and pleaded guilty to the charge on May 3rd, 2024.

Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse is punishable by a sentence of 3-7 years in prison, a year of supervised release, and a lifetime registration as a sex offender.

Ryder is set to learn his fate on July 22nd before Judge Debra Schafer.
