Rice Lake Area Men's Club donates $1K to Hunt Hill

Every year the Rice Lake Area Men's Club donates more than 95% of the funds it raises to Barron County organizations whose mission is aligned with the club's values, which are to support youth activities, services and education. Yearly, the club makes more than 20 awards; this year it is celebrating 40 years of supporting community youth.

On April 30, the Men's Club donated $1,000 to Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary. The funds will be used to sponsor youth who will attend a variety of nature education and appreciation programs at Hunt Hill. Check presentation was made by the Rice Lake Men's Club to Nikki Janisin, executive director of Hunt Hill.

The Men's Club hosts the Kid's Fishing Derby every June — a fun family event. In 2023, nearly 400 kids from the Rice Lake area participated in the event. This year's event is Saturday, June 1.

Another fundraiser that has become a community favorite is its Wine & Beer Festival, held annually at the UW-Eau Claire - Barron County Gym. In 2023, nearly 500 people attended and contributed through ticket purchases, auctions and a variety of raffles.
