NC State football’s recruiting travels yielded instant results this week. May is a critical month meant for locking in official visits with key prospects, establishing new connections and building off of its existing bonds with in-person meetings at high schools all over the country.

Over the course of this week, the Wolfpack traveled to Texas, Missouri, Florida, Georgia and, of course, schools all over North Carolina. NC State is trending in a positive direction with a trio of four-star recruits and another priority prospect as a result.

Here’s the latest buzz around four recruits who plan to officially visit the Pack later this year.

    Four-star offensive tackle Connor Howes

NC State offered Connor Howes March 27. They then set a strong base connection before offensive line coach Garett Tujague visited him at Saint Cloud (Fla.) High earlier this week. That meeting went really well, and the 6-6, 300-pound offensive tackle locked in a June 14-16 official visit.

Howes, who is rapidly rising up the recruiting rankings, also holds offers from Mississippi State, UCF and others. On3 considers him the No. 131 recruit in the country and the No. 12 offensive tackle. No other recruiting service ranks him above No. 42 at his position. Recently, he told On3’s Maroon and White Daily that his top for in no order is Arkansas, Mississippi State, USF and UCF.

NC State has now established itself as a contender as well. Tujague and Howes spoke for more than an hour this week.

“He’s a very genuine guy and a talk that normally lasts 15 minutes with any other coach can go hours with him because he will talk about anything and everything,” Howes told TheWolfpacker.com , “He gave me life lessons as well as information about the school. Very down to earth guy snd knowledgeable.”

    Four-star safety Ladarian Clardy

Ladarian Clardy joined a crowded NC State safeties board March 18 when the coaching staff extended an offer. He holds offers from Georgia, Washington, Kentucky and many others. The 6-0 defensive back from Pensacola (Fla.) Escambia High is the No. 202 overall recruit in the On3 Industry Ranking and the No. 18 safety.

Washington hosted him on an official visit this weekend. NC State is a contender for him, and he plans on locking in his first trip to see the Wolfpack soon. Safeties coach Joe DeForest was scheduled to travel to Pensacola this week. Clardy is another new Sunshine State star to keep an eye on.

    Four-star offensive tackle Lucas Allgeyer

Tujague also traveled to Mary Institute & St Louis (MO) Country Day to meet with Lucas Allgeyer , a long time offensive line priority for the program. One source informed TheWolfpacker.com that the 6-6, 260-pound tackle is planning a June 14-16 official visit with NC State.

On3 considers him the No. 276 recruit in the country and the No. 23 tackle nationally. He also holds offers from Ole Miss, Washington, Nebraska and many others. Allgeyer visited earlier this spring, and it sounded like that trip went really well. On3’s Derek Young has an early RPM pick in place for Kansas State, and I view him as a long shot for the Pack. The summer official visit is a step in the right direction.

    Cornerback Serious Stinyard

Brian Mitchell really impressed Tampa (Fla.) Gaither High cornerback Serious Stinyard when the Wolfpack assistant stopped by his school this week. The 6-1, 180-pound defensive back locked in a June 7-9 official visit with the program and also named NC State his top school.

He really likes the Wolfpack’s system and enjoyed his conversation with Mitchell. Their meeting at Gaither High was the first time NC State has reached out to Stinyard, so this offer was a surprise. After extending the scholarship, Mitchell followed up this weekend and locked in the official.

Stinyard will also spend weekends with Kansas State and USF after stopping by Raleigh in June. NC State’s location and the culture of the program appeal to him. He wants to attend college outside of Florida. The defensive back could play cornerback, nickel or safety with the Pack. Stinyard is now one of four corners, joining Cameron Strong , Robert Jones III and Jayden Shipps , to schedule official visits for June 7-9.
