Softball Game Recap: Baraboo Takes a Loss
If Baraboo was riding high off their 16-2 takedown of McFarland last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Baraboo Thunderbirds fell just short of the Portage Warriors by a score of 6-4 on Friday. Baraboo was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Portage apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April.
Baseball Game Recap: Markesan Comes Up Short
Markesan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-2 to the Pardeeville Bulldogs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Markesan of the 15-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture on Friday.
Baseball: Lake Mills takes lead in 5th, pays back Lodi, 3-2
Winning pitcher Brody Henderson scored the go-ahead run on a double off Cooper Murphy's bat as Lake Mills' baseball team salvaged a split with Lodi, winning 3-2 at Campus Field on Thursday, May 2. Henderson got the wheels turning in the Lake Mills fifth inning with a double to the fence in right-center field. LODI -- Lake Mills' softball team opened up a one game lead in the Capitol North by routing host Lodi 13-0 in five innings on Friday. The L-Cats (16-2, 5-1 in conference), who lost 6-5 to the Blue Devils on April 23, tallied 16 hits and had three players -- Savannah Radtke, Ava Kleinfeldt and Taylor Wollin -- who had three hits apiece.
