    Woman killed in crash on Allegheny River Boulevard identified

    One person was killed in a crash on Allegheny River Boulevard Tuesday morning.

    The two-vehicle crash happened at around 8:15 a.m. in the area of the Giant Eagle in the 200 block of Allegheny River Boulevard.

    First responders found a 70-year-old woman dead at the scene. Tuesday night, she was identified as Dorothy Demko of Verona.

    The initial investigation shows a Ford Eco Sport driven by the victim struck a curb and then crossed the center line, hitting a Jeep Cherokee.

    The driver of the Jeep, a 55-year-old woman, was not injured.

    The road was closed between Sandy Creek Road and Wildwood Avenue.
