Cosby scores on every possession in homecoming win over Cloudland
COSBY — The Cosby football team’s offense has been efficient all season long, but its most recent game took things to another level. The Eagles scored all eight times they had the ball, didn’t have an incomplete pass, and played turnover-free on their way to a 58-16 homecoming victory over Cloudland on Friday night, their first home win of the season that moved them to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in Region 1-1A action. Cosby has scored 50-plus in all three region victories in consecutive contests. “That’s the goal,” fourth-year Eagles head coach Levi Cooper said of his offense batting 1.000 versus the Highlanders (1-5, 1-2). “You never go into it not wanting to score. We’ve got a bunch of explosive football players. I think we’re very balanced. We can run it and we can throw it. We just try to go out and take what the defense is going to give us and try to go execute plays. “We played really well tonight. We were able to run it and able to throw it. I’m proud of those guys for going out and executing the plan. We had to match their physicality. That’s a really physical football team they’ve got.
