    Woman charged after deputies find mushrooms while searching Philippi home

    PHILIPPI, W.Va. (WBOY) — A woman has been charged after deputies find mushrooms while performing a search of a Philippi home.

    On May 13, deputies with the Barbour County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at a residence on Cherry Hill Road in Philippi, according to a criminal complaint.

    During the search, deputies located 3.56 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, a set of digital scales and “a large amount” of unused bags, deputies said.

    The resident of the home was identified as Meriann Henry, 42, of Philippi, who “took ownership” of the items located during the search, according to the complaint.

    Henry has been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. She is being held in Tygart Valley Regional Jail on $15,000 bond.
