Man charged in connection to Petersburg shooting that injured woman in December 2023

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — A man has been arrested and charged in connection to a shooting that injured a woman in the Vinita Park area of Petersburg in December.

On Tuesday, May 14, officers with the Petersburg Bureau of Police worked with the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force to take 36-year-old Timothy Green into custody in connection to a shooting that happened on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023.

Green was wanted for reckless handling of a firearm, shooting in a public place and causing injury, malicious wounding, malicious shooting at an occupied vehicle and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police say Green is being held pending his appearance in court.

This comes after a woman had non-life-threatening injuries after she was shot in the 2100 block of Walton Street on Dec. 16, 2023.
