PEARL, Miss. ( WJTV ) – The City of Pearl is working to cleanup after last week’s severe weather that killed one person.

There were downed trees and power lines across the city. Cars, homes and local businesses were also damaged.

Pearl Mayor Jake Windham said crews are working as hard and as fast as they can to get the city back to normal.

“Overall with somewhere around 73 trees being downed, we were out. First responders and public works were out and cleared roads that you could clear,” the mayor said.

Windham said one resident, who was identified as Susan Collins, died during the storm. He also said one person received a minor injury.

Neighbors can report damages to the city.
