    PASCO, Wash. – The Pasco School District is celebrating their future educators Wednesday, May 15th! With a teacher signing event to honor the 113 students from all the Pasco high school's who have expressed that they will be pursuing careers in education.

    The event was at Stevens Middle School in Pasco from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This is the third year Pasco School District has this event and they are looking to make this an annual event.

    The district's career and technical education director says this event is to open opportunities for these future educators.

    "We just want to elevate awareness of the opportunities for education and for becoming a teacher, and really recognizing our own students as our future workforce,” PSD, career and technical education director, Laura Jones, said “really kind of just elevating that perception of this is an amazing career path and in our district, we want you to come back and work with us."

    The students will be signing a contract that ensures them an interview that once they've  completed their teaching requirements they are guaranteed an interview with the PSD.

    Pasco Volunteers Celebrated at Champion for Children Event
