Not much changes at McGregor Pizza Co., and that’s a very good thing. For the last nine years, Katie and Nir Marciano have grown their small but mighty pizzeria on McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers into a neighborhood gem . And they’ve done it one pizza and one hello at a time. “It was challenging in the beginning,” said Katie, who was “born and raised just down the street” from her pizza shop. “A lot of people around here just weren’t coming in.” Luckily, the Marcianos weren’t pizza-shop rookies, having just sold Amore Brick Oven Pizza in Gulf Coast Town Center. They weren’t looking to get back into the business when a friend told them the pizza shop — which had been Giovanni’s before becoming McGregor Pizza & Deli Co. in 2014 — was for sale. “I used to ride my bike around here,” Katie said. “And I always loved this building. It’s at least 100 years old now.” So the couple, who lived just down the street then (and still do), bought McGregor Pizza in 2017. “We started doing mailers,” Katie said. “We just wanted to get our menu to their houses, so we blasted the whole area.
