Umberto’s Is Coming to Jericho as Sign Goes Up at Shopping Plaza

Umberto’s is preparing to open in Jericho, with its name already displayed on the roadside sign at Jericho Shopping & Office Plaza on Jericho Turnpike. Trader Joe's plans 2 new New York stores. See where they're going

Two new Trader Joe's stores are planned for New York, expanding the popular grocery chain's presence in the state. The California-based retailer announced plans this summer to open new locations in the Syracuse area and Yonkers as part of its latest nationwide expansion. The plans add to the company's growth in New York, which includes a Long Island store that opened earlier this year. The expansion comes as Trader Joe's continues to draw shoppers with its private-label products and competitively priced groceries. Where are the new Trader Joe's stores? According to Trader Joe's, the two planned stores will be located at: Camillus: 3515 W. Genesee St., in the Syracuse area. Yonkers: 2482 Central Park Ave. The Camillus store, located just west of Syracuse in Onondaga County, will be about 9,000 square feet and become the area's second Trader Joe's. The existing Syracuse-area store is at 3422 Erie Blvd. E. in DeWitt. The Yonkers location will cover about 10,000 square feet. When will the new Trader Joe's stores open? Trader Joe's has not announced opening dates for either New York location. Spokeswoman Nakia Rohde said new stores typically open within three to six months of being announced. Bill Murray spends Halloween at a Yonkers bar

It was a treat, not a trick at Rory Dolan's in Yonkers when actor/comedian Bill Murray showed up on Halloween. The McLean Avenue bar is continually festive — owner Rory Dolan hosts a party no matter what night Halloween falls on, but this being a Saturday, it was particularly celebratory. And all the more so when Murray came in with two friends, ate dinner (he had rib-eye and a nice bottle of wine), and later, helped pour Guinness from behind the bar.
