Guest Column: Why I voted against that liquor license
Despite what you heard during an outburst at the last City Council meeting, there are times when the seven council members do not unanimously agree on an issue. That happened at the April 16th meeting when a seemingly simple agenda item was presented authorizing the city to apply for its own liquor license at the refurbished Optimum Community Center. The application was approved on a 6-to-1 vote, and I was the lone dissenting vote.
