PD: Norwich bank robbed, ATM ‘heavily damaged’

NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) — Norwich Police responded to a reported incident at Eastern Savings Bank on West Main Street around 8:50 a.m. on Sunday.

When officers arrived on scene, they found an ATM had been heavily damaged, with a significant amount of cash missing from its vault.

An initial investigation revealed that the suspects, believed to be a group of individuals working together, used a pickup truck and various hand tools to forcibly open the ATM and abscond with its contents.
