    Guns allegedly drawn on suspects of an Ohio high speed chase

    UPDATE: State police have released the name of the suspects and their charges after a high speed chase on Interstate 70 in Ohio.

    Arrested were driver, Jamey Friend a 46-year-old male from West Virginia and passenger Deidra Hines a 49-year-old female from Parkersburg, WV.

    Both are facing charges of: Tampering with evidence, Receiving Stolen Property (Vehicle was allegedly stolen from Parkersburg), Possession of drugs, Obstructing official business, Failure to comply with law enforcement, and Illegal use and possession of drug paraphernalia

    Both are currently in the Belmont County Jail after being released from Barnesville Hospital Saturday.

    Both are awaiting arraignment.

    BELMONT COUNTY, OHIO (WTRF) — An investigation is underway into a high speed pursuit that began in Muskingum County and ended in Belmont County on Saturday.

    A few people who passed by the scene say troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol had their guns drawn on what seemed to be the suspect’s vehicle down a hillside near the interstate.

    The pursuit ended just past the Barnesville exit on I-70 East.

    Officials from the Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed the driver and passenger of the vehicle are now in custody.

    The Belmont County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the situation according to officials.

    The Ohio State Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
