Veggie Wheels® Schedules June 1 Slow Ride

OLEAN, NY — The Veggie Wheels® program will host its fifth annual Slow Ride bicycling fundraiser on June 1 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Veggie Wheels® provides fresh, naturally grown fruits and vegetables, free of charge, to low-income, disabled, and elderly residents living in Cattaraugus County. Produce is purchased at a discount from participating local farmers.

Check-in will be at 9:30 a.m. at the Jamestown Community College Cattaraugus County Campus, 260 N. Union St., where the ride will begin and end. The 8-mile journey includes travel along the Allegheny River Trail.

Free bike helmets for youths, a basket raffle and bike safety checks will be features of the event. After the ride, participants are invited to stay on campus for the chance to win prizes, have snacks and connect with other riders.

Donations of $15 are encouraged and can be made by cash or by check at registration or online.

All are welcome to participate. Those under 18 should be accompanied by an adult.
