PRESTON COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Preston County Sheriff Paul “Moe” Pritt has died, according to reports.

Morgan County Sheriff KC Bohrer stated on Monday that Sheriff Pritt had passed.

“Sheriff Pritt was a tenured officer and serving his first term as Sheriff. He was uncontested in his second term. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and Blue family,” Bohrer said.

Pritt’s vacancy will be filled within 30 days.

Pritt was a long-time Preston County resident and dedicated law enforcement officer with over 27 years of service.

A graduate of Fairmont State University and the West Virginia State Police Academy, he had extensive training and experience.

Pritt also served his community as a youth league coach for over 20 years and was actively coaching girls’ fast-pitch softball at Preston High.
