Two injured after partial roof collapse at warehouse in south Knox County

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Rural Metro responded to a roof collapse in south Knox County on Wednesday where two people were injured.

Rural Metro shared that a roof collapse was reported at the PSG warehouse located on South National Drive around 12:30 p.m. The roof partially collapsed, causing significant damage to a large water and gas line, which resulted in a massive gas leak inside the building.

When crews arrived, they found that evacuations were already underway. The build was cleared and all personnel were accounted for according to Rural Metro. Two people were taken to the hospital for what Rural Metro described as minor injuries.

Gas and water were shut off for the facility to prevent further damage. According to Rural Metro, the damage was limited to a particular area and not the entire facility. The facility has been turned over to maintenance personnel.

Knox County Rescue volunteers also responded to the collapse to assist Rural Metro.
