UPDATE: (2:17 P.M. Wednesday, May 8) – Greenup County Public Safety Director Buford Hurley says one person was transported for medical treatment after a crash involving a tractor-trailer and another vehicle. The person’s condition is unknown at this time.

Crews are still working to reconstruct the crash to determine how it happened.

GREENUP COUNTY, KY (WOWK) – Crews are on the scene of a crash involving a tractor-trailer in Greenup County.

According to Greenup County Public Safety Director Buford Hurley, the call came in around 10 a.m. Wednesday regarding a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 23 at Siloam Lane. Hurley says a tractor-trailer and another vehicle were involved.

Breaking News

While there is no word on injuries at this time, Hurley says a possible entrapment was reported and a HealthNet helicopter is being dispatched to the scene.

The roadway is expected to be closed for several hours due to the crash, according to Greenup County E-911. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.

The South Shore, Washington Township and Lloyd fire departments are responding.
