    Lincoln sophomore selected for The Gatton Academy

    Lincoln County High School sophomore Kendall Smith was selected for The Gatton Academy Class of 2026. The Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Kentucky has selected 95 Kentucky sophomores for the Class of 2026, marking the Gatton Academy’s 19th incoming class.

    Applicants were evaluated based on ACT/SAT scores, high school grades, awards and accomplishments, extracurricular activities, responses to essays and recommendation forms.

    Kendall is the son of Tim and Paula Playforth Smith. He is Vice President of the Sophomore Student Council and a member of the LCHS tennis team. He is also a member of FBLA, Beta Club and the STLP Club.

    He will complete his junior and senior years of high school living on the campus of Western Kentucky University where he will earn a minimum of 60 college credit hours.
