STOKES COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — It’s a big weekend for adoptable pets in Stokes County.

The Friends of the Stokes Shelter, which is the county’s only no-kill facility, is holding their first Putts for Pets Golf Tournament on Saturday.

It’s happening at the Hemlock Golf Course in Walnut Cove. More than 50 groups have already signed up.

All the money raised helps the FotSS continue to save dogs and cats from the county’s shelter.

To date, they’ve saved nearly 1,400 dogs and cats and placed them in forever homes.

You can learn more about the Stokes Animal Adoption Center and this weekend’s golf tournament here.
