    Coroner identifies 30-year-old killed in Springfield Township shooting

    A man is dead after a shooting in Springfield Township, according to police.

    The Springfield Township Police Department said officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Springdale Road for a report of a person shot in their vehicle. When police arrived, they said they found 30-year-old Jairyn Blackwell suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

    Blackwell was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead; police at the scene said the man was dead when first responders arrived.

    Police closed down Hamilton Avenue near Springdale Road while they investigated the shooting, which happened at around 1:35 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

    Police have not released any information on a suspect or what might have led up to the shooting.
