BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY, Va. ( WFXR ) — The National Park Service has announced that its camping and other associated fees along the Blue Ridge Parkway are increasing.
According to the park service, the rate changes include frontcountry and backcountry camping site fees along with a non-camper user fee for shower and dump station services. This is the first major rate change since 2016.

Showers available at Julian Price Park and Mount Pisgah campgrounds

Along the parkway, eight frontcountry campgrounds are typically open from May through late October.
Reservations for all campgrounds can be made now for the 2024 visitor season. However, new frontcountry fees will go into effect for all reservations made on or after May 24, 2024.
The park says all backcountry camping permits are required and the new fee is expected to start late in the summer.
Park officials say the new fees are needed for facility maintenance, future campground improvement projects, and increased costs associated with campground operations.
