TEXOMA ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Much of Texoma faces yet another threat of strong to severe thunderstorms on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

WATCH: Tornadoes and storms tear through Texoma on Tuesday, April 30

According to KFDX Chief Meteorologist Michael Bohling, more storms are expected on Wednesday, May 1, with more severe storms likely to impact the area.

“Most likely concerns will be strong wind gusts and large hail, but the potential is still there for a couple of tornadoes,” Bohling said.

Officials with the National Weather Service said in a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Wednesday that strong to severe thunderstorms are possible across much of the area with a risk for large hail, damaging winds, and a low risk for tornadoes.

TEXOMA’S WEATHER AUTHORITY: Wednesday brings more storms, possible severe weather

Bohling said supercells will most likely initiate to the west of Texoma in the late afternoon to early evening hours on Wednesday, moving into Texoma’s western counties and eventually consolidating into a line.

“The storms will hang around late tonight, but should weaken substantially by around 1 a.m.,” Bohling said.

With much of the ground in Texoma already saturated by recent storms, there will be a slight risk of flash flooding across Texoma on Wednesday as storms bring more heavy rainfall into the area.
