Two dead following head-on collision in Greenbrier County

GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two people have died following a head-on collision in Greenbrier County.

According to the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at approximately 3:30 pm, members of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle automobile accident on US Route 219 south of Ronceverte and near Organ Cave.

The accident was a head-on collision with entrapment.

The driver and passenger in one of the involved vehicles succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Their names are being withheld pending family notifications.

The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department Crime/Accident Scene Reconstruction Team processed the scene.

Ronceverte PD and the fire departments of Ronceverte, Fairlea, and Lewisburg responded.

Lieutenant D. W. Hedrick, of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, is the investigating office.
