There are many reasons why you should support your locally owned bakery instead of relying on those large grocery store chains. For example, it attracts neighborhood business, and the owner may live just around the corner.

That's the case with Scialo's County Bakery located at 10 Olney St, Seekonk, Massachusetts 02771, which has been family-owned and locally owned since 1974.

I believe that when you go to your local bakery, your money goes into the community more than when you shop at a supermarket chain. The bread, cookies, cakes, and other pastries also taste better and have more flavor.

There are times when you need a source of higher quality products, fresh produce from a locally owned bakery. You can't beat the taste of baked bread and rolls that you buy directly from your local bakery.

Your local bakery may be a greater source of economic stimulation for your community than shopping at a national grocery store chain. The main reason, of course, is that it's an investment in your neighborhood. That means everyone wins.

Choosing more local businesses and buying the products that are grown and produced close to home results in the creation of stronger communities, not to mention a happier populace.
While large corporations tend to be run without much regard for the community as a whole, small businesses have a vested interest in their neighborhood and like to stay involved. Yes, those larger chains may seem more convenient. But they are bad for the community.
Some supermarkets are trying to save money by getting their baked goods from a single large bakery instead of supporting local bakeries and mom-and-pop shops. This is one of the hidden costs of large grocery stores and why you should support your locally owned bakery instead of relying on those large grocery store chains.
Local businesses tend to support their local communities. It's how we build real relationships and grow our social networks. We shouldn't take that away from our communities and replace it with a soulless chain where employees are associates instead of neighbors.
By supporting your local bakery instead of relying on those large grocery store chains, you can actually make a difference in your community.
Small bakeries are run by owners who provide you with excellent baked goods. They do this because they love baking and want to share their love with others. A lot of them have a story to tell about how they got started, which adds to the unique experience of buying from them. Every product in a small baker's shop has been made under the store owner's supervision with utmost care and attention, and this can be seen in the flavors and freshness of their products.
