Polk County Detectives Catch Construction Worker Red-Handed in Job-Site Theft

A 26-year-old Winter Park man, Yefferson Pichardo, was arrested by Polk County deputies for stealing from a construction site where he was employed.

According to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd during today's morning briefing posted on the department's Facebook, Pichardo claimed he was not being paid fairly, leading him to start stealing breakers from the construction projects he worked on. This theft had been ongoing since July.

Polk County detectives and deputies caught Pichardo in the act, stopping his vehicle and discovering the stolen breakers inside. He was arrested and is now facing 12 counts each of unarmed burglary, trespassing, and theft.
