Last week, two individuals from Coffee County were charged with trafficking methamphetamine following a search at a residence on Willacoochee Highway.

On August 13, detectives with the Coffee County Drug Unit conducted an operation involving Charles Black, which led to a search of his residence on Willacoochee Highway. According to the report, Black left his residence before the warrant was served and was subsequently detained.

When detectives arrived, they found Stephanie Rountree, 44, in a bedroom closet where a quantity of suspected methamphetamine was discovered. Additional methamphetamine and a digital scale were also found in the bedroom.

At the time of the search, Rountree had an active warrant for probation violation. The suspected methamphetamine field-tested positive and weighed 34 grams, including packaging.

Both Black and Rountree were charged with trafficking methamphetamine. Rountree had previously been arrested for possession of methamphetamine in November 2022. In March 2023, she pleaded guilty and was sentenced to Accountability (drug) Court. She violated the court’s terms in April 2023 and was ordered to complete 8 hours of community service. By June 2023, she violated her terms again and was sentenced to 48 hours in Coffee County Jail.

Currently, both Black and Rountree remain in custody.
