NY Liberty Coach’s One-Word Reply To Angel Reese, Chicago Sky Blowout

    By Joe Vitale,

Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky put on a dominant performance on Tuesday night against the New York Liberty in their WNBA preseason game.

Reese, the No. 7 overall pick out of LSU in last month's draft, scored 13 points while shooting six-of-ten from the field, bringing in five rebounds and two assists.

The Liberty, last year's runner-up, are no joke, either. Led by Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu, nobody could have expected such a massive blowout.

But that's exactly what happened. The Sky won 101-53 behind Reese's nice performance, and Liberty coach Sandy Brondello could not believe what she had witnessed.

"Embarrassing," was the word that came to mind for her after the blowout loss.

For the team that made it to the WNBA Finals last season, that's a good choice for a word to describe the feeling of losing by 48 points.

Stewart and Ionescu both played, but neither were too effective in their time. Stewart scored 5 points in 21 minutes. Ionescu scored 8 in 18 minutes.
