New York City police said a transgender woman punched a man Saturday seemingly at random on a subway platform in Manhattan.

Authorities told local news station WPIX that the 39-year-old victim was attacked around 6:30 a.m. Saturday at Grand Central station.

The victim was bleeding from his forehead after the assault, according to police, and was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Police said the transgender woman — a biological man who identifies as a woman — was menacing the victim with a shoe before socking him in the face.

The suspect ran off before an arrest could be made, police said.

The incident comes over a month after Gov. Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, tried to address crime fears on the rails by deploying 750 National Guard troops at subway entrances.

At the time, critics said the move was more a form of public safety “theater” than it was a productive way to cut down criminal incidents.

Mayor Eric Adams also surged an additional 1,000 officers to the subways earlier this year, which the politician said led to a 23% drop in crimes against straphangers in March.
