NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man was slapped on Tuesday with several  hate crime after attacking seven women in New York City over the past few weeks in relation to the unprovoked attacks that went viral on TikTok, police confirmed.

Police arrested Daquan Armstead, 31, from Bronx, and he was charged with seven counts of hate crime, seven counts of attempted hate crime and seven counts of aggravated harassment.

Armstead has been wanted since his first attack on Feb. 12, when he punched a woman on Elizabeth Street.

He also allegedly punched a woman in the face at West 14th Street and Sixth Avenue in Chelsea on March 20, according to the NYPD. She was standing in front of a building at 10 a.m. when she was punched in the face and suffered a nose injury.

Armstead allegedly ran off after the attack before he was arrested, police said.

On March 24, he hit a woman on Delancey Street, and on the next day, he punched another woman on Chrystie and Rivington streets. On April 2, he punched a woman who didn't have money, and on April 5, he attacked two women on Delancey Street, police said.

He was also wanted in connection with attacking a New York University administrator on April 17. Before the NYU administrator assault, Armstead allegedly punched a 24-year-old woman on Stanton Street.

The NYPD did not provide further details on all seven attacks.

Police have released photos linked to several unprovoked attacks on women across the city.
