New Orleans officials Monday called on the public to help police solve the mass shooting in the Warehouse District that killed one woman and left eleven other people suffering from gunshot wounds.

New Orleans city councilman Oliver Thomas said finding the culprits quickly can help prevent more violence.

"We need to get ahead of the retaliation," said Thomas. "Retaliation in this town is real."

Crimestoppers New Orleans Director Darlene Cusanza the faster it happens, the better.

"If you have information about retaliation, the tips that we've received so far, we appreciate you," Cusanza said. "Whether it's vehicles you saw in the area, surveilling the area, whether it's names that you think might be out for retaliation, we need you to give that information, swiftly."

Police say anyone who has information should call NOPD Homicide at (504) 658-5300, or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111 or toll free at (877) 903-7867 (STOP).

Callers to Crimestoppers do not have to leave their names and may be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
