Newark Symphony Hall to Commence Next Phase of $75 Million Renovation: The Arts + Education Lab
(NEWARK, NJ) -- Newark Symphony Hall (NSH), New Jersey's largest black-led arts and entertainment venue continues its legacy of innovation and community enrichment through its newest reactivation, The Arts + Education Lab – a 30,000-square-foot creative hub for community gathering, artistic expression, and cultural enrichment. Set to officially begin Phase 2 of its four-part $75 million capital improvement program in June 2024 and aiming for completion in January 2025 to coincide with NSH's 100 anniversary, this phase aims to expand its production capabilities and community outreach programs through these updated resources.
New Jersey State Council on the Arts to Receive Nearly $1.2 Million from the National Endowment for the Arts
(TRENTON, NJ) -- The New Jersey State Council on the Arts has been approved for a grant of $1,195,200 from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). For nearly 60 years, the Council has received funding from the Endowment as part of its State and Regional Partnerships program, which extends the reach of federal resources through State Arts Agencies nationwide. This year's award is the largest NEA grant the Council has received in its 58-year history. This competitive grant supports Council operations as well as statewide priorities in the areas of arts education and lifelong learning, folk and traditional arts, and community and economic development.

11th Annual Jersey City Jazz Festival to Take Place May 29th to June 2nd

(NEW YORK, NY) -- Finding beauty beneath the pain and harmony hiding in heartbreak is an art form that Gina Zo has mastered as frontwoman of the Philly-bred, L.A.-based indie pop act Velvet Rouge. WXPN Announces More Artists For 2024 XPoNential Music Festival
(CAMDEN, NJ) - Philadelphia public radio station WXPN has announced that Guster, Trampled by Turtles, Greensky Bluegrass, Julia Pratt and Brittany Ann Tranbaugh have been added to the lineup of its 2024 XPoNential Music Festival presented by Subaru. They join the 17 previously-announced artists who’ll be performing September 20, 21 and 22 at Wiggins Park on the Camden, New Jersey waterfront, directly across the Delaware River from Philadelphia.
NJPAC Announces 2024-25 Season of Dance
(NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) has announced the 2024-25 Season of Dance. The season includes performances by Malevo, State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine, Nature Dance Theatre, MOMIX, Nai-Ni Chen Dance, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. 2024 Lighthouse International Film Festival Preview
(LONG BEACH ISLAND, NJ) -- The 2024 Lighthouse International Film Festival (LIFF) takes place June 5-9, on beautiful Long Beach Island. The festival will screen more than 110 documentary, narrative, short, horror, thriller, and surf films.

Hayes, when he started his Surflight Ampitheatre in a very large tent in Beach Haven Crest ( large as in over 2000 seats), Surflight Theatre has been able to stand the test of time and make it to 2024 with their Broadway at the Beach. The theatre will celebrate its 75th anniversary with a season that includes Million Dollar Quartet. South Pacific, Footloose, Titantic, Head Over Heels, Stardust Road, The Great American Trailer Park, Steel Magnolias, Daddy Long Legs, and Miracle on 34th Street.
