Sunday afternoon, the NCAA selection committee selected the Texas State football team to play in a bowl game for the first time in its program history. The Bobcats will face Rice University in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas on Tuesday, December 26. This will be the first meeting between the Bobcats and Owls since 1987.

Michigan, Washington, Texas and Alabama were selected to the College Football Playoff on Sunday, Dec. 3.

Monday was a big day for Texas Governor Greg Abbott who went skydiving for the first time in his life and did it with a 106-year-old World War II veteran by the name of Al Blaschke. They both did a tandem jump with the professionals at Skydive Spaceland San Marcos to honor the service and sacrifice of U.S. military veterans.
