(MANHATTAN, N.Y.) A pigeon broke into a woman's apartment in Hamilton Heights, laid its eggs and made her bed home.

According to the New York Post, 38-year-old Erika Barker left her apartment for eight days and returned to find a pigeon had given birth on the bed in her guest bedroom.

Apparently, the bird had flown in through an opening next to the room's air conditioner.

"I heard some wings flapping and thought, 'I’m gonna get my camera out real quick and see,'" said the bird's new landlord in a video uploaded to TikTok. Barker shooed the bird away and even said, "You will never see your children again."

However, the small business owner told the New York Post she eventually decided to share her space with the bird and even designated a small corner for the pigeon.

Barker "took a recycling bin, put a trash liner in there, put the nest inside of it" and placed it in a window as a makeshift home for the bird.

"Believe it or not, the mamma bird came back, and now she and her male mate are roosting," said Barker. "I guess I’m going to be having some baby pigeons."
