Double for Canton's Reese starts comeback for Houston in win over McNeese
HOUSTON (KLTV) - Former Canton Eagle Ace Reese had two hits and an RBI as part of a game in which Houston overcame a five-run deficit to defeat McNeese, 9-8. Batting fifth and starting in left field, the freshman was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, a walk and an RBI. Reese doubled in the first run for Houston in the fourth inning, to cut the deficit to 5-1. Reese then scored on a double to cut the deficit to 5-2. Reese singled in the seventh inning and later scored on a throwing error. Reese walked in the ninth inning.
4A Baseball: Lindale sweeps Sulphur Springs
LINDALE — Hudson LeGrow has been battling illness this week. But on Friday night, the Lindale junior was locked in and making life difficult for the Sulphur Springs Wildcats, striking out 10 batters and throwing a four-hit shutout in a 4-0 victory in Game 2 to sweep the Class 4A bi-district series after Lindale won 5-4 in Wednesday’s opener.
Malakoff's Wittram homers as TVCC wins North
CORSICANA, Texas (KLTV) - Former Malakoff Tiger Addison Wittram had a home run and four RBI as TVCC swept Navarro in a doubleheader to clinch the North Division of Region XIV. Batting third and starting at second base, Wittram went a combined 3-for-9 with two runs scored and four RBI. Wittram had two hits, one run scored, two RBI and a stolen base in the first game, which TVCC won, 9-5. Wittram hit a homer in the second game and had one hit, one run and two RBI, which TVCC won, 4-1.
