Emergency shelter opens in Van Zandt County to help those impacted by severe storm
GRAND SALINE, Texas — An emergency shelter has opened in Van Zandt County to house those affected by heavy storms on Tuesday. According to a news release, the American Red Cross has partnered with the Grand Saline Emergency Services and Van Zandt County Emergency Management to open this shelter on Wednesday, which includes respite care, a charging station, and overnight shelter services based on individuals' needs.
Brookshire to provide free meals in Mabank to residents affected by thunderstorms
MABANK, Texas (KLTV) - The Brookshire Grocery Company will be serving free hot meals to the East Texans still recovering from the storms this week. According to a press release, the company will be deploying a “Community Kitchen” along with a team of employee-partners on Thursday to serve free meals at the Brookshire’s parking lot located on 1200 South Third Street in Mabank. Residents impacted by the severe weather from earlier this week are encouraged to attend.
