MONTCLAIR, NJ - An investigation has been launched into the cause of a fire in Glen Ridge, Montclair officials announced Tuesday. After Montclair firefighters put out a fire that damaged a Willow Street home, Montclair public safety officials are still searching for the cause. The Montclair Fire Department received a call around 8:42 p.m. on Sunday. When firefighters arrived, flames were coming from underneath an enclosed porch, fire officials stated. According to officials, the occupants had self-evacuated prior to firefighter arrival and the fire was quickly extinguished underneath and inside the porch. "There was fire, heat and water damage to the affected areas," fire officials stated. No injuries were reported.  The last unit cleared the scene at 10:08pm.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A missing Bloomfield man was found dead at the base of Rockefeller Lookout in Englewood Cliffs on Sunday, police said. Palisades Interstate Parkway Police officers found an abandoned vehicle at about 5 p.m. at the Bergen County lookout, which located along Palisades Interstate Parkway just north of Exit 1, according to a police spokesman.

A drunken driver who appeared to cry as he was cuffed has been charged in the wild Manhattan crash that killed a 23-year-old man and injured at least four other people, police said Monday. Six minors between the ages of 12 and 14 were arrested Sunday after they allegedly stole a car in Fairfield and later crashed it following a police pursuit, authorities said. A resident of Big Piece Road called the police shortly after 3 a.m. after seeing several people pulling on car door handles in his driveway, according to a statement from the Fairfield Police Department. The people were soon seen leaving the area in a stolen red 2020 Kia Forte, driving toward Horseneck Road, police said.

A car struck multiple people in Manhattan on Sunday night, killing one man and injuring at least four others, police and sources said. The crash took place near the intersection of East 21st Street and Third Avenue in Gramercy at around 7:30 p.m., according to law enforcement sources. JERSEY CITY, NJ - A 15-year-old Jersey City is dead following a shooting in the early hours of Monday.  According to a statement, authorities were alerted to the incident at approximately 4:20 a.m. when a 911 call reported a shooting at Wilkinson Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene, responding officers discovered a young male, later identified as Tyshawn Smith, 15, of Jersey City, with an apparent gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at approximately 4:55 a.m. The circumstances surrounding this incident are currently under active investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
