DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Drivers traveling near the Butler-Warren County line may experience stopped traffic early this weekend.

From Saturday around 11 p.m. to Sunday at 5 a.m., I-75 will experience intermittent closures around Ohio 63 in Monroe. The closure will reoccur Sunday night into Monday morning during the same time frame. At some points, all lanes in the area will be shut down.

Increased police presence expected in Miami Township

Duke Energy will be working on the highway to replace power lines that fell onto the roadway during a storm on April 2.

“Duke Energy is working closely with law enforcement to minimize disruptions to motorists, and we advise caution when traveling through that area during those times to keep drivers and utility crews safe,” said Duke Energy. “Power outages will be localized to the work site itself and any affected customers have been notified.”

Work was expected to begin Friday night, but is being moved “due to weather.”

Authorities will be in the area to ensure traffic is maintained.
