Rowdy Ranchers paint the town red, white and blue!

Anyone who has traveled through Flasher has likely noticed a set of hay bales along the south side of the highway, across from Fitterers Gas & Oil. Each year, the Morton County Rowdy Ranchers 4-H Club gathers at its September meeting to plan its next hay bale design. The group chooses a theme to honor, celebrate or dedicate its work to an event, occasion or even a person.

Former Bismarck Mayor Bill Sorensen Passes Away

(Bismarck, ND) — The city of Bismarck is remembering former Mayor Bill Sorensen, who passed away Saturday at the age of 76. Sorensen served 24 years on the Bismarck city commission, including two terms as mayor. He was also a magician who spent more than 30 years entertaining crowds in Medora. He also once served as co-host of the Medora Musical. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 8, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Bismarck. A memorial service will be there the following morning at 10:30.
