Three injured, two seriously, in rear-end crash south of Minot
WARD COUNTY, N.D. (KFYR) - Three people were injured in a crash around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday about five miles south of Minot. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, 43-year-old Erica Erck of Minot was driving an SUV north in the left lane of Highway 83 with 79-year-old John Mjoen of Newburg following behind in another SUV.
Arrested in City Shoot ‘Em Up
MINOT – One of two people charged with alleged involvement in a shooting in this city is behind bars while an arrest warrant has been issued for the other. Judge Gary Lee set bond this week for Sydney Roller, 20, Minot, for her alleged role in a shooting incident in northwest Minot on July 7, 2023, that resulted in the wounding of one man. Police say they recovered 24 spent shell casings at the scene in one of the most extensive shoot ‘em ups in city history.

MINOT, ND—Trinity Health has announced that Elliot Leinen, formerly Associate Director of Decision Support, has been promoted to the position of Director of Administration. As director, Leinen will be responsible for drafting and distributing statistical reports, analyses and exhibits to stakeholders, and will collaborate with management staff to identify and deliver necessary administrative support operations for the organization. Other duties include analyzing data from the organization’s management information systems and conducting system performance analyses and evaluations.

Citizens Voice Opposition to County Tax Increase
MINOT — “This places us in the top nine states, nationwide, for property taxes,” said Mike Blessum, in voicing his opposition to proposed property tax increases in Ward County during a public hearing Tuesday evening in front of Ward County commissioners. “While my home value has increased 14% my property taxes have gone up 78%.”
