Thousands of dollars in cash found hidden in Marysville theater bathroom
MARYSVILLE, Ohio — The Marysville Police Department recovered tens of thousands of dollars in cash hidden in the bathroom at The Avalon Theatre over the weekend. An employee found the cash on Saturday morning after noticing someone acting suspicious the night before, walking in and out of the theatre bathroom while a hypnosis show was happening inside.

Ohio prison bodycam video: Officer runs over inmate with vehicle
MARYSVILLE, Ohio — Newly released body cam video from an incident at an Ohio women’s prison has sparked controversy and calls into question the validity of possible abuse allegations at the Marysville prison. The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections (ODRC) told the Guardian last month that an internal investigation is underway at the prison after inmates reported alleged abuse by staff.
City pool passes on sale this month
The Champaign Family YMCA and the City of Urbana announce that the municipal pool at Melvin Miller Park will open for the summer 2024 season on Saturday, May 25. All preseason sales (for season passes, pool rentals and swim lessons) will take place at the pool office this year on Saturdays, May 4, May 11, and May 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m..

Driver charged in multiple crashes
Just after midnight on April 29, Urbana Police and Fire Divisions were dispatched to a multi-vehicle injury crash in the 400 block of North Kenton Street. It was reported that the lone driver, who was involved in the crash, was injured and trapped. Upon officers’ arrival at 12:08 a.m., they learned that there was only one driver involved, and that he’d allegedly been traveling at an extreme high rate of speed while northbound on Kenton Street, when he and the vehicle he was operating crashed into two parked vehicles in front of 421 and 425 North Kenton Street.
