‘Old-fashioned’ general store, pizza place to close its doors in Clark County
Hartman’s Country Cupboard, known for its pizza, subs and salads, and located at 5390 Selma Pike in Pitchin, is closing its doors permanently at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 10. “It’s a little too much for me to handle these days,” said Sean Hartman, who owns the store with his wife, Kristin. “There’s been a few people talking about maybe purchasing the place, so there may be a future for it.”

Champaign County Oath Keeper sentenced to 8.5 years in federal prison
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Jessica Watkins, a woman who participated in the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC has been sentenced. Watkins will be spending 8.5 years in federal prison. The sentencing comes after Watkins, a transgender military veteran, stormed the Capitol, and apologized for what she had done in court, according to NBC News.
Setback in the winter has made Springfield's Scott stronger on the track
Maira Scott learned the hard way her body needs to rest and take a break from intense training on the track. But there’s no question the Springfield junior standout is better off because of it. Scott severely injured her hip around Thanksgiving and had to take several months off from running during the winter. She has returned from the setback to put up the best times in the state in her sprints, as well as some remarkable, record-breaking performances over the past several weeks. “A big problem with me is that I do high intensity training, and I’m very hard on my body, which I learned my lesson of patience and being able to relax, this and that, because for me I constantly want to keep working,” Scott said after breaking two meet records and winning three events at Friday’s Division I district meet at St. Francis de Sales High School.
