To the editor: Maumee district merits YES vote
When my family moved to northwest Ohio nearly 10 years ago, my wife and I had a wide variety of great communities and outstanding schools to choose from. Over the last decade, our experience as Maumee residents and parents of four Maumee City Schools students has shown us that we made the best decision for our children. The impact the schools have had on my family, and the way they have prepared my children for their futures, makes voting yes on the upcoming Maumee City Schools levy an easy decision. It’s an investment that ensures our schools remain something the entire community can be proud of. Read more letters to the editor When we arrived in Maumee, our young family had already been in two different school districts. We didn’t want our kids to start over yet again, so we were looking for a district where they would not only get a great education but where our two children with IEPs would also get the support they needed. Maumee gave them both. My two oldest are now pursuing their higher education and athletic goals at Ohio Northern University, one of the top schools in the Midwest. Dean’s List honors, Student

Clyde seniors cap football careers with strong finish to 2026 campaign
Clyde coach Eric Leuthold put Linkin Mullins and a few classmates on the field to start the third quarter against Norwalk, for one final snap. The play call was a quarterback draw. Forty yards later — with a lead block from Mullins — Karcen Garner was in the end zone to cap their careers as the Fliers shut out Norwalk in Week 10. Clyde won three of its last four games, after winning once in its first six. "We came together collectively and focused on the violence," Mullins said. "We felt we weren't violent enough in our execution. We were more aggressive in practice, and it helped in games." High school football Wesley Kayser helps lead Woodmore out of fog The strong close to the season provided a morale boost. "We had high expectations," Mullins said. "With the rough start, the finish helped us have more fun to end the season. The team can build on leaving a legacy — that under no circumstances should you quit. You face adversity into the storm. Crestview spoils Bucyrus' district debut, march to 1st final since '18
NORWALK - Crestview coach Kenedi Goon expected a little more out of her team against Bucyrus in Tuesday's Division VI district semifinal at Norwalk High School. "I felt like the whole pace of the first two sets wasn't quite Crestview volleyball," Goon said. "It felt a little slow to me, and maybe that's just my high expectations of the team." The No. 3 Cougars deserve high expectations coming off an 17-win regular season they lived up to those by taking down four-seed Bucyrus in four sets 25-16, 25-19, 22-25, 25-19. DIVISION III: Ashland shakes off slow start against Columbian in district semifinal "Dropped the third set, which we didn't want to, but we were able to bounce back and that's all that matters," Goon said. "I'm proud of them for pushing their tempo, pushing the pace, and stepping up to get it done." That hastened style of play forced Bucyrus into making several unforced errors on the night, most of the time at costly moments either thwarting a momentum-building run for the Redmen or extending a run for the Cougars. "We just seemed to be lagging tonight," Bucyrus coach Amber Christy said. "Don't get me wrong, Crestview is a good
