Fremont police offering reward for info on vandalism at inclusive park
FREMONT, Ohio — The Fremont Police Department is offering a reward for info leading to whoever is responsible for vandalism at an inclusive city park. FPD said in the evening hours of Saturday, April 20, damage was done to eight picnic tables at the inclusive play park located at Rodger Young Park. Police said six of those tables are specially designed handicap-accessible tables to accommodate wheelchairs.

Ohio State Highway Patrol opens new Fremont post
FREMONT ― The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s new Fremont Post has opened on the same grounds where its original location stood for 63 years. Fremont Post operations were relocated May 16 to a temporary site on Pinnacle Drive so the original post, located on the U.S. 20 Bypass, could be demolished and the construction of a new building could begin.
Mortar rounds found in Tiffin, Delta; bomb squad responds
OHIO, USA — The Northwest Ohio Bomb Squad responded to two separate incidents in the area Friday to collect and dispose of mortar rounds. According to Toledo police reports, the bomb squad was dispatched to assist the Seneca County Sheriff's Office in Tiffin Friday at approximately 2 p.m., where the family of a deceased WWII veteran said they had found an old mortar round. The bomb squad collected the object and secured it for later disposal.

History Spotlight: The old State Street Bridge
The third bridge across the Sandusky River on State Street in Fremont was this iron bridge constructed in 1877. The view in this photo looks northeast across the railroad gates near Front Street in the early 1900s. The sturdy bridge survived the 1913 flood, lasting until 1926 when it was replaced by the current State Street Bridge.
