M-35 Detour in Gwinn: Road Rebuilding Project Expected to Last Until Mid-October
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be closing and detouring M-35 near Gwinn in Marquette County from June 5 to mid-October as part of a rebuilding project. M-35 traffic will be detoured onto Southgate Drive and M-553, then back to M-35. Woman arrested for drunk driving after two-vehicle Republic Township crash
REPUBLIC TOWNSHIP, MI— A Houghton County woman was arrested, following a two-vehicle accident in Republic Township Friday. The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched around 4:40 p.m. to M-95 near Kingfisher Road. A truck containing two Marquette residents was northbound when it was rear-ended by a van driven by a Hubbell woman.
Source of smoke coming from Negaunee home undetermined
NEGAUNEE, MI— A cat was rescued from a Negaunee residence Tuesday night, after firefighters found smoke coming out of the home. The City of Negaunee Fire Department was dispatched around 10:15 p.m. to a house on the 100 block of West Arch Street. Crews located the source of the smoke and extinguished it quickly.
