Astronaut named to KMI advisory board
MARQUETTE, MI— A former NASA astronaut has joined the advisory board of a Marquette company researching ways to eliminate space debris. Dr. Anna Lee Fisher was the mission specialist on the Space Shuttle Discovery in 1984 who operated robotic arms to salvage two malfunctioning satellites. She’s also a chemist and an emergency physician.

NMU wrestler to compete in 2024 Paris Olympics
LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Northern Michigan University wrestler Payton Jacobson punched his ticket to his first Olympic games in Paris. Jacobson earned his spot on Team USA in the 87-kilogram weight class for Greco-Roman wrestling. He won gold in the 2022 U-20 World Team Trials and silver in the 2023 Pan-Am championship. Now, the 21-year-old gets the chance to represent our state in the Summer Olympics in Paris.
