A recap of NoMAD's "Spring Fever" concert
I recently had the opportunity to see 3 wonderful bands play at our NoMAD concert, here on campus. This is annually put together by Northern Michigan Artist Discovery, a student-led group that works together to bring artists from across the country to put on a concert, free of charge to NMU students. This year, they had performances by Husbands, Pretty Jane, and The Casper Fight Scene. These artists were all excited to sit down before the show and chat with me about their personal experiences, what brought them to the Upper Peninsula, and what it means to perform at a show like this.
Brookridge Heights residents make baby blankets for Care Clinic
MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - A Marquette senior living home is giving back to its community. Brookridge Heights Assisted Living residents spent the month of April making about 20 baby blankets. On Wednesday, the home donated all the blankets to the Marquette, Ishpeming, and K.I. Sawyer Care Clinic. The clinic will give the blankets to pregnant women in need.
Chilly Wednesday with warm up and rain chances this week
Dry conditions with chilly air start off Wednesday, temperatures will range from the high 30s near the lake shore to 40s inland. Sunny skies remain for the next couple of days but rain chances are on the rise for Friday evening. Once the rain starts it won’t let up as wet conditions are expected for most of this weekend with some areas seeing thundershowers. Rain chances will dwindle by the time we get to Monday but some could still see light showers.
