Inaugural Resinator Beer Release and Metal Festival at Kognisjon Bryggeri
The Kognisjon Bryggeri in Marquette is bringing live metal to Third Street for the Resinator Beer Release and Metal Festival. On Saturday, April 20th, downtown Marquette will be rocked by local and regional metal bands for an event that celebrates things dank and heavy. The inaugural Resinator Fest will be paired with a beer release from the Kognisjon Brewery. Bands featured include The Glorious Dead and Woodcult from Traverse City, Horrid Mass from Milwaukee, and local band The Hard. Andrew 'Bear' Tyler of Thrash and Trash Tuesdays on Radio X and Marquette Music Scene will emcee the event.

HARBOR SPRINGS — The Lyric Theatre held a special viewing and Q&A with the directors of a new film made by two Michiganders last week. On Thursday night, people could visit the theater in Harbor Springs to check out “Marqueetown,” a film that follows a man trying to restore the Nordic Theatre, a historic arthouse in Marquette.

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC)—The Marquette Public Art Commission (MPAC) offers artists an opportunity to leave their mark on the city. The commission is looking to repaint its Words to Live and Bike By murals. The murals along the Holly Greer Bike Path say “Remember,” “Gratitude,” “Dream,” “Respect,” and “Hope.” The MPAC says the murals are starting to fade after four years in the elements.
