Savannah seeks input on Tide to Town path on Montgomery Cross Road

There is also danger for bikers and pedestrians. There were four pedestrian-related crashes between 2021 to 2025, with one resulting in a fatality. The corridor also saw 14 bike crashes and 11 injuries in the same span. But the City of Savannah is seeking to change that. The city held a public engagement meeting on that vision last week that drew over 100 residents. “It’s really about getting your feedback and your engagement about how we can use these dollars that are already allocated,” said Savannah City Manager Jay Melder in a nod to the $10 million hotel-motel tax revenues devoted to Tide to Town.
