Man behind bars in Lubbock after pursuit that ended in Garza Co.

LUBBOCK, Texas — Oscar Flores, 61, was arrested by Slaton Police after he led authorities on a pursuit that ended in Garza County, according to a press release from SPD.

Lubbock County Sheriff’s dispatch received a call for a reckless driver “swerving all over the road.” Slaton officers located Flores east of the city limits on Highway 84.

When officers tried to pull Flores over, he refused to stop, SPD said. This led to a “brief pursuit.” With the help of Garza County Sheriff’s Deputies, Slaton police pulled Flores over “without incident.”

Flores was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center and charged with Evading Arrest with a Vehicle and Driving While Intoxicated. As of Monday, he remained at LCDC on bonds totaling $10,000.

SPD thanked the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office and Garza County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.
